Sixth Form Information Evening

We are pleased to announce that we will be holding an 'in person' Sixth Form Information Evening this year on Monday 1st November 2021 between 6.00 and 8.00pm.

We have adapted our usual event to allow for greater social distancing and divided the evening into 5 distinct sessions through which students and their parent / carers will rotate in small groups.

Below - you will find films and information relating to our Virtual Sixth Form Information Evening last year. We have left this information here so that any students or parent / carers that are not able to attend the event can still access the information that they need.

We understand that the decision about where to continue your studies post 16 is an important one – and we want to give all our students and parent / carers every opportunity to be able to make an informed choice based on what is best for you. We hope that the information and films provided here will give you a clear sense of our ethos and values and provide some useful starting points for exploring the subject options available to you.

Finally, if you have a question and cannot find the answer you can ring school and ask to speak to a member of the Sixth Form team. For more subject information you can also view our 'online prospectus'.

Please see the video below where our Associate Headteacher, Dr Toby Close will introduce you to Park Hall Sixth Form.

Please see the video below where our Senior Assistant Headteacher, Mr Cornell explains the main reasons why record numbers of year 11 students decide to continue their post 16 studies at Park Hall.

Please see the video / slideshow below where Mr Cornell shares some further details about life in Park Hall Sixth Form and offers guidance on how to start researching which subjects are best for you.

Please see the video below – featuring a montage of photographs and filmed footage that will help provide an insight into life at Park Hall Sixth Form.

Please view the slide show below, compiled by one of our own A level Photography students, Sophie Dainty – entitled ‘Being Park Hall Sixth Form’.
Using images and quotes from students themselves Sophie explores what it means to become a subject specialist at Park Hall Sixth Form.

How to apply
All year 11 students at Park Hall have been provided with a colour Prospectus, describing our approach to Sixth Form study and providing information on the subjects that we offer*. Each prospectus contains a paper application form that we would encourage students to complete and hand in to the box in Reception. Applicants will be interviewed by Mr Cornell and Mrs Churchill from the end of December. Further copies of the Prospectus and application forms can be collected from the school Reception.

All external applicants can view the same prospectus online on the Sixth Form page of the Park Hall website. Please use the online application tool to submit an application. We welcome students from other schools to our Sixth Form every year. Please be aware that in order for your application to progress to interview you will need provide a year 11 progress report which demonstrates a year 11 attendance record above 95%. Interviews for external students will commence from February.

*Please be aware that (as we adapt our curriculum to the needs and preferences of our students) the following subjects are offered in the Sixth Form but are not included in the Sixth Form Prospectus. Further information about these courses can be found on the Sixth Form page of the Park Hall website under the tab for ‘Curriculum’.
