PE Curriculum
Year 7
Pupils will follow a rota of the following activities
Winter AUT1-SPR2 – Indoor athletics, Outdoor and Adventurous activities, Football, Netball, Gymnastics, Badminton and Health related fitness
Summer SUM1-SUM2 – Athletics, Rounder’s and Softball
Year 8
Pupils will follow a rota of the following activities
Winter AUT1-SPR2 – Indoor athletics, Outdoor and Adventurous activities, Football, Netball, Hockey, Gymnastics, Badminton and Health related fitness
Summer SUM1-SUM2 – Athletics, Rounder’s, Softball and Tennis
Year 9
Pupils will follow a rota of the following activities
Winter AUT1-SPR2 – Outdoor and Adventurous activities, Football, Netball, Hockey, Trampolining, Badminton, Table Tennis and Health related fitness

PE
All students undertake a formal qualification in either GCSE PE, BTEC Sport or NCFE Health and Fitness at Key Stage 4. This is to ensure that students are ready for the next phase of their development with an understanding of the importance of the practical application of health and fitness and how to apply that understanding to their own life.
Assessment in PE
Students will be assessed in 3 key areas Physical skills, life skills and thinking skills. The focus of this curriculum is for pupils to develop holistically with skills that are crucial for all aspects of their life.
Expectations of Park Hall pupils in PE
All students are expected to conduct themselves appropriately at all times. This will include:
- Arriving to lessons on time with correct kit (regardless of injury or illness).
- Changing quickly to maximise learning time. (no longer than 5 mins changing)
- Listening to all instructions carefully
- Following instructions to the best of their ability
- When speaking to a teacher or peers speak politely and respectfully at all times
- Approach all lessons with a positive attitude – ready to learn and encouraging the learning of others.
- Respect the school environment and any equipment that they have borrowed
- Students should behave in a responsible safe manner at all times and think before acting.
- Jewellery should be removed before going to the lesson. Hair must be tied back – pupils are to provide their own hair ties and boys are no exception to this.
